Oral hygiene is a problem. Demonstrations on use of toothbrush and toothpaste are held.

ACTIVITIES

Our main thrust is education. The children are our main target. They are bright and hungry for knowledge.

Tuition Centers are set up in Kampung Bertang and Kampung Sg. Ruai Tengah to provide intensive tuition classes to all the school going children. We strive for academic excellence.

tEACHERS

Our teachers are all volunteers and they go diligently every Saturday to teach the children at the tuition centers. They are all very well trained and dedicated and are playing a key role in our community transformation programmes.

Our teachers come from all walks of life and they all want to make a difference in the lives of the orang asli children. The lessons are well planned and prepared to capture the attention of the children.

The orang asli teachers are selected on merits and given training in Kuala Lumpur at least twice a year to upgrade skills and knowledge. Malaysia Care in Chenderiang also  helped out in the training of our orang asli teachers.

We take a wholistic approach in our education programmes.

Children are the hope and future of the orang asli.

Education is key to a better and brighter future.

HEALTH & HYGIENE

Health and hygiene programmes include talks on healthy living habits.

Health and hygiene need improving. Our medical team is headed by Dr. Surrendran and together with his mother and sister monitor the health and hygiene of especially the children.

Education

Head-lice is a perenial problem and needs regular treatment.

MUSIC

Imparting skills is another facet of our community transformation programme. This is especially so in teaching music to the youths. Music workshops are also held under the trees.

Bands are formed in all the kampungs and the youths are drawn to the bands, away from drugs and alcohol abuse.

Professional such as Mr. Arthur Kam volunteered his time to train our drummers.

The orang asli youths are good musicians. They also perform in weddings and functions.

JAMUAN (HARI BUDAYA)

Jamuan is a time of festivities, celebrations and bonding. Hari Budaya is an occasion where the kampungs come together to showcase their culture, traditions and foods.

Jamuan is also a time for all the kampung folks to gather as one big family.

Communal cooking bonds the folks together.

Lack of furniture was not a problem!

The children happily enjoying their meals.

partners and well-wishes

We would not be able to implement and run the many projects and programmes if not for the heart warming financial and resources support from our partners and well wishes.

Special mention goes to the several Rotary Clubs, MyKasih, L60 Group and Mr. & Mrs. Thorton, Mr. Andy Coplan and the many individuals who are giving not only financial support but also provided encouragement and advice.
